FRIEDA MUELLER Peacefully on Thursday, March 11, 2010, Frieda Anna Mueller passed away at the age of 85. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, Ewald; son Ulrich (Karen) and their two children, Leah (Laurent) and Erika (Illya); her daughter Marion (David) and their two children, Matthew and Zoe. She is also survived by her brother Karl (Irene) and sister Leah (Hans). She was predeceased by her sister Irma. Frieda was born in Germany in April 1924. She immigrated to Canada in October of 1952. Frieda was a nurse (LPN) and worked at the municipal hospitals in Riverview until she retired. Frieda took great pride and joy in being a nurse. She was a real people person and enjoyed working and helping people and developed a close relationship with her co-workers that continued on into her retirement years. She always enjoyed a good debate about current affairs and was never afraid to share her opinion about politics with her friends and family. She was an avid gardener and really loved keeping her flowers in bloom throughout the year. She had an ongoing battle with the squirrels but loved all of the birds that came to feed in their yard. Many a bird owes their winter survival to Frieda. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren (Leah, Erika, Matthew and Zoe) and visiting with family and friends. Frieda and Ewald loved going on winter vacations especially the warm white sands of Cuba. Once Frieda and Ewald moved into their new home at Dakota House she made many new friends and enjoyed their dinner table discussions. Frieda was a very strong yet compassionate individual who loved life and her family. Frieda was loved by many and liked by all who knew her. Her family loved her and she will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillvray Boulevard. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Boniface Hospital, 6A South and Dr. Gabrielle for their support and care. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
