HARRY FRANK HUTTER It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Harry on March 14, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Anne; daughter Tanya (Jerry); two brothers, Horst (Kirsten) of Denmark, Reinhart (Lore) of Austria and sister, Maria (Franz) of Namibia. He will be missed also by Mercedes (Doug) Wallace and her children Jamie and Katie. Harry was born in Vienna, Austria on June 28, 1931. After the death of his father when he was eight, he was raised by his maternal grandparents at Schloss Drösdl. He studied estate management in Austria and Switzerland, but after immigrating to Canada and working on a farm in Ontario for several years, he decided farming was not for him. He headed for the big city and eventually started to work for Northern Electric (now Nortel). During his 34 years of employment he worked in many parts of Western Canada, from Toronto to Vancouver. During his last six working years, Harry was seconded to Turkey, Belize, Barbados and Australia where Anne and Tanya were able to join him and take many enjoyable trips with him. But, in spite of all the exotic locations he'd been to, his favourite place was the family cottage at Red Rock Lake. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Our deepest thanks and appreciation to the 4th Floor and I.C.U. nurses, doctors and staff at Victoria General for their kindness and caring. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Harry's memory may be made to a charity of choice. 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca Ample parking behind the funeral home.
