Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL BUDNIAK With great sorrow we announce the passing of my dearest husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Michael Budniak on March 12, 2010 at the age of 93. Leaving to mourn his passing, his beloved wife Katie of 61 years; his children, Margie (Cliff), Ted, Angie (Terry), Gladys (Brian); eight grandchildren, Jim (Nancy), Greg (Kyla), Amanda (Bill), Travis, Ashley (Brendan), Brent, Brandon, Britney; three great-grandchildren, Jax, Hannah, Morgan; sister Anne; brother Nick; brother-in-law Nick (Vicki); sister-in-law Elizabeth and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two infant sons, Michael and James; parents, Anna and Maxim; brothers, Donald, Peter; sisters, Mary, Josie, Lena and Katie. Michael was born and raised in Meleb, MB and worked on his parents farm. He worked at the Mines at Uchi Lake, ON from 1939 to 1942. In 1946 he purchased his farm where he lived and farmed his whole life with the love of his life Katie, whom he married on June 26, 1948. He was an active member and served as an Elder at Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Meleb, MB for 30 years. Dad loved life to the fullest. He enjoyed farming, hunting, walking, biking, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Rizk, Dr. Poon, the First Responders and the RCMP. Prayer service will be held on Wednesday, March 17 at 7:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Komarno, MB. Rev. Father Harry Chuckry will officiate. Interment will follow at the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, Meleb, MB (on Hwy #7). Pallbearers will be Mike's grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association.
