MURIEL DORIS SUZANNE WHEELER March 4, 1940 March 12, 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sister, Muriel, at the Pine Falls Hospital, on Friday, March 12, 2010. She was born at the Winnipeg Victoria Hospital, a tiny preemie, who has fought hard all her life to overcome some serious health problems, most recently emphysema. Muriel was predeceased by her parents, Lewis and Yvonne Wheeler, two infant siblings and a dear nephew Billy. Left to cherish her memory are her sister and two brothers, Dess (Elie) Trudell of Powerview-Pine Falls; Buddy Chris Wheeler at Betel Home, Selkirk and Garth Wheeler of Selkirk; her nephew and nieces who will always remember the fun times with their aunty Muriel, Tim Trudell, Dianna (Gilles) Guertin, Janice (Rob) Oakes, Gail (Adrian) Farmer, Garnette Poulin and their families. Many cousins and her dear aunty Gerry-Jo of BC, as well as the friends she has made over the years. Muriel loved reading, travelling, music, dancing and going out for lunch at the Casino. She was looking forward to her Red Hats convention and the next dinner dance at the Senior Scene. She loved her family and friends unconditionally. Even though her health was hard for us to watch, she tried to stay cheerful. We are going to miss her strong opinions on everything she felt was important to her. We would like to thank the Pine Falls medical and ambulance staff who made her comfortable and to my son Tim who helped me with so much during this stressful time. We are going to miss you, Mew. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a gathering of family and friends will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk in charge of arrangements.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I remember Auntie Muriel. She was such a sweet lady. I was very young. May she be free of suffering now and forever. I totally remember her father Lewis Wheeler! He was a great spoon player. He was my grandmother Lenore Wheeler's brother. She too was a great musician. Incredible fiddle player. The whole Wheeler family was very musical. If Garth is reading this I would like very much to contact him, or visa versa. He will remember my mother Susie Benson. Thank you so much! - Posted by: Lana Benson (niece) on: Jun 30, 2017
