EDWIN REMPEL Surrounded by family, Edwin Rempel of Niverville, MB peacefully passed away on March 15, 2010 at Desalaberry District Health Centre in St-Pierre-Jolys. He is survived by his wife Ella, of 56 years, son Earl, daughter Sharon (Steve Hartlaub), son Gilbert (Diana), daughter Audrey (Heinz Neufeld), and 14 grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son, Gordon in 1970 and one daughter-in-law, Sheryl in 2007. Edwin spent his early married years farming in the Niverville area. He then began working for Kehler Feed and Seed. He finished his working years as a maintenance worker for Puratone. After retiring from Puratone his retirement years were spent fixing appliances and bicycles for the Niverville M.C.C. Thrift Shop. Edwin enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and fixing. He loved playing games and spending time with his family. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments, and will be dearly missed by them. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Thursday, March 18 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fourth Avenue Bible Church, 62 4th Ave. South, Niverville, MB with interment at Hespeler Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in Edwin's memory may be made to The Gideons, P.O. Box 3619 Stn. Main, Guelph, ON N1H 9Z9 or to the Canadian Food Grains Bank, 400 - 280 Smith Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1K2. The family wishes to thank his doctors, home care attendants, and the nursing staff of Desalaberry District Health Centre for the care, compassion, and support in Edwin's final days.
