ROGER JOSEPH PARISIEN July 20, 1945 - March 16, 2010 Peacefully, surrounded by family and friends at the Health Sciences Centre, Roger went to be with his Creator after a long and courageous battle with a multitude of physical ailments. Roger loved to spend time with family and friends, fishing, camping, playing crib, and making others laugh. A proud member of the Metis community of Winnipeg he participated in community events as often as he could. Roger is predeceased by his parents Bernice and Paul; brothers Larry and Brian; sister Yvonne; sister-in-law Bunny, and brother-in-law Charlie. He is survived by common law wife, Maria Silva; children: Bernice (Archie), Robert, Charlene (Darrell), Corrinne (Kelvin), Darren (Heather), Joan, Curtis, and Amanda; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; special friend Diane; brothers: Joe (Matilda), Jimmy, Albert, Billy (Lila), Perry Popeye (Leslie); sisters: Mabel, Madge (Rod), Ruby (Jim), Doris (Keith), and Theresa. Active pallbearers will be: Robert Parisian, Darren Parisian, Cory Parisian, Kyle Parisian, Jonathan Charlette, Randolph Campbell; Joshua Phillips (Flag Bearer). Honorary pallbearers are: Wilfred Spence, Jr., Brendan Phillips, Charles Patinaude III, Curtis Howson, Dennis Parisian, Darrell Phillips, Archie Starr, Sonny Parisian. Prayer Service will be held on Friday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m. in Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 252 Dubuc Street. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, 917 Archibald Street, Winnipeg, MB.
