RANDY WOO With great sorrow we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother, beloved husband, and dear friend Randy Kay Tsang Woo on March 14, 2010 at the age of 68 years. Dad leaves to cherish his memories his wife Sally, of 40 years and his two sons Larry (Dolly) and Robert (Michelle); grandchildren Jett, Jaxi, Jonas, and Xander will dearly miss their Yea Yea. Dad also leaves his two older brothers Wally (Enid) and Roger (Julia) and their extensive families. Dad was born in 1944 in Kwangtung Province, China. In 1967, Dad, along with his mother immigrated to Canada, settling in North Battleford, SK to work for his brother Wally in the restaurant business. In 1968, Dad relocated to Winnipeg where he first met his wife Sally. In 1970, Dad and Mom took over the operations of the Marigold on St. Mary's Road. In 1980 they opened Chinatown Marigold. Dad spent the next 26 years on King Street. The restaurant for years was the focal point of Chinatown. It was a place for family and friends to gather and celebrate every occasion. In 1999, he was given the Golden Dragon Award, recognized as Citizen of the Year in the Winnipeg Chinese Community. Dad loved being with family. We will always remember our Dad as being a strong but quiet leader of our family. Together with Mom, he showed us the value of marriage and family. Dad held both his brothers in high regard. He always made sure that we knew the sacrifices that Uncle Wally made for him and his brother Roger. He often said that if it wasn't for Uncle Wally we wouldn't have what we have today. Thank you Uncle Wally and Uncle Roger. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 22, 2010, Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church, 500 Lagimodiere Blvd. Viewing will be held a half-hour prior to the service. A reception will follow the service also at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Randy to the CancerCare Foundation of Manitoba. Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses that gave care to our father. Our family would like to thank Pastor Tran and the Chinese Alliance Church for all their support and comfort. We love you Dad GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 982-7550
