AGANETHA WIEBE (nee NICKEL) October 22, 1914 March 17, 2010 Surrounded by the love of family our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Aganetha Wiebe (nee Nickel), peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Predeceased by her parents, husband Peter Wiebe, brothers Heinrich Nickel and Frank Nickel, five siblings in infancy, and grandson James Warkentin. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children Peter (Viola) Wiebe, Katie (Henry) Warkentin, Anyta (Woldemar) Neustaedter, Klara (Martin) Wulff, Henry (Linda) Wiebe, Rudy (Carolyne) Wiebe, Mary Ann Wiebe, 14 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren, two sisters and their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews. Aganetha was born in Neuendorf, Ukraine on October 22, 1914. She immigrated to Canada in 1949 following a difficult refugee trek during the Second World War. In Canada Aganetha and her family settled in Winnipeg where she lived a peaceful and prosperous life raising her children and grandchildren. She loved singing and flower gardening and spent hours enjoying these activities. Aganetha loved the Lord and was a devoted member of the Springfield Heights Mennonite Church. Please gather with us to mark her passing on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. (viewing at 1:00 p.m.) at Springfield Heights Mennonite Church with interment to follow at Green Acres.
