Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN MICHALCHUK Peacefully on March 16, 2010, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Michalchuk at the age of 80, at St. Boniface Hospital. John was predeceased by sons, Donald and Allen; daughter-in-law Sue and granddaughter Jessica. Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife Myrna. His children, Brian, Bill (Kim), Christine (Randy), Linda (Bentley), Beverly (Art), Joyce (Jackie), David (Susan). His siblings, Metro (Olga) and Lena. Also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. John was born in Saskatchewan but lived much of his life in Cookstown and Barrie, Ontario. He moved to Winnipeg in 1970. He enjoyed his jobs at Co-op Implements and later at Riverside Lions Estates. His willingness to help when needed and his enjoyment of a good joke or story earned him many friends at Riverside Lions. Prior to and following his retirement he enjoyed fishing. He was especially proud of his three Master Angler awards. He enjoyed visiting his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren when he was able to do so. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hands of Hope, 50 Barnes Street, Winnipeg, MB R3T 4Z7 or www.canadahelps.org. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. A public viewing will take place prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. A burial service will follow after the service.
