Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA GIESBRECHT (nee WIEBE) February 7, 1923 - March 17, 2010 Peacefully on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Calvary Place, Maria went home to be with her Lord and saviour at the age of 87. She is survived by her children Marilyn (Ron), Wayne (Marie) and Brenda; grandchildren Keith (Tracy), Clinton ( Carla), Curtis, Sheryl (Rui), Christopher, Cassandra, Megan, and Kim; great-grandchildren Kayla, Sarah and Payton; brothers Lorne (Helen), Art and sister Elma as well as nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by her husband Abe and her parents John and Helen (nee Neufeld) Wiebe. Maria was born on a farm in the area of Horndean, Manitoba and later moved to Lowe Farm. She worked as a nurses aid in the high risk pregnancy ward at the Health Sciences Centre until her retirement in 1988. Mom loved to socialize with her friends from Calvary Temple and Bethel Place. Mom took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved sharing many stories with them. She will be remembered for her kind and generous heart and her wonderful sense of humour. She will live in our hearts forever. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Calvary Place for their outstanding and compassionate care. A private family service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 22 at Neil Bardal Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, across from Brookside Cemetery with interment at Brookside Cemetery.
