KAY BILYK (KWASNIAK) On March 20, 2010 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Kay Bilyk, aged 88 of Winnipeg passed away with her family at her side. Kay was born June 18, 1921 in Glenhope, MB. On July 28, 1951 she married Steve Bilyk. Left to cherish Kay's memory is her husband of 58 years, Steve; daughter Diane (Ray); son Gerald; grandchildren Derek (Nancy), Ryan and Kelly (Luis); great-grandchildren Kaylee and Stefanie. She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Sam Kwasniak; sisters Pearl Huchko, Eva Yakubchak, Anne Hey and brother Bill. Family was very important to Kay. She held us together and was always there for us. She was a very caring and giving person - thinking of others before herself. She loved to cook and Sunday dinners with family were very important to her. Room was always made at the kitchen table for friends and family who dropped by. Her cabbage rolls will be missed by all. Mom loved to garden and in the spring you could always find her getting the garden and flowers ready for the beds. Mom took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kind and generous heart and her wonderful sense of humour. Even after she had her stroke in 2000 she still loved to tell jokes. She always let her family know how much she loved them and her words, hugs and kisses will be missed by us all. Special thanks to the staff at Maples Personal Care Home for their care of mom during her residency. Ginger the cat will miss mom's company and treats that were always there for him. Mom was the Queen Bee of the family. Funeral service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, on Thursday March 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
