IDA MARIA BAUHS It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Bauhs, on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 86 years. Maria will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Karen Bauhs (Marshall Ruskin) and son Harvey Bauhs (Carol). She was predeceased by her husband Joe in 2003. Born near Bergdorf, Germany on March 30, 1923, Mom was the only child of Karl and Paulina Thees. She married her sweetheart in 1943 and in 1947, she and Dad immigrated to Canada. After living briefly in Winnipeg and Flin Flon, they moved to Snow Lake, MB and spent 45 happy years there. In 2002 Dad's illness brought her to live in Winnipeg. Mom's life was one well-lived with love and devotion to her family. She touched the lives of many people with her caring and honesty. In compliance with Maria's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Maria's family wishes to sincerely thank the wonderful staff at the Concordia Hospital for their tender care. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. To live in the hearts left behind is not to die.
