ABRAHAM WOOD February 27, 1933 - March 18, 2010 Surrounded by family with love, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather peacefully passed away to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 18, 2010. He was predeceased by his parents John and Margaret, his grandchildren Conrad and Francois, brothers Zacheus, Simon and Paul; his sisters Audrey, Elizabeth and Mary. He leaves to cherish his loving wife Caroline (Disbowe), his brothers Jobb (Marion) and Nathaniel (Ann) and sisters Madeline and Elizabeth (Nelson). He had 11 children: Gordon (Christine), Rita (George), Christina, Norman, Susan, Russell (Dawn), Leonard, Elaine (Phillip), Gaye, Freddie (Jennifer) and Mike; 62 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Our father emphasized the importance of gaining a good education. He devoted his time and energy ensuring his children were well prepared for school each day. He loved all children and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them at school as he spent close to 30 years a school playground monitor. Throughout his time with us, he promoted unity through mutual understanding and respect. The family would like to thank the staff at the Riverview Health Centre for the care they provided. His passing was marked at the Kateri Tekakwitha Parish on Tuesday evening, March 23 at 6:00 p.m. Aboriginal Funeral Chapel 586-7700
