ROSS HAMBLY 1920 - 2010 Peacefully on March 21, 2010 at the Gimli Community Health Centre, Ross passed away just one week short of his 90th birthday. Born in Dryden, ON, Ross started out in the banking business and then joined the Air Force. His last posting was in Gimli where he remained and enjoyed many good years. He then began work at Seagrams until finally retiring in 1984. Over the years Ross enjoyed curling, summers at the cottage in Arnes and was active in the Gimli Legion where he held many positions and was given a life membership. Predeceased by twin sons Grant and Gary and his beloved wife Edna six months ago. Left to mourn Ross's passing are his sons Doug (Burma) and Rick; his daughter Jill Young (Craig); sister Dorothy Griffith (Bala, ON) and daughter-in-law Shirley (Kitchener, ON); also 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank home care and Betel staff. Dad always said how nice all the girls were. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli. Interment will be held for both Ross and Edna at a later date.
