BRIAN MCMILLAN The family announces the peaceful passing of Brian McMillan from cancer at Riverview Health Centre on March 25, 2010. Brian leaves behind his loving wife and best friend Lauralee, daughter Karen (Steve) Risbey, daughter Karla (Jim) Hines and son Karl (Lori); seven grandchildren, Amanda and Russell Risbey, Tom, Joe and Samantha Hines and Tim and Brittany McMillan; sister Diane (Ken) David, children and grandchildren, Colleen and Gus Foster, Brant and Lisa David, Heather David and Courtney and Bradley, several sisters and brothers-in-law plus numerous nieces, nephews, friends and his cat Cinnamon . Brian was predeceased by his parents Chess and Winnifred McMillan. He was born at the Grace Hospital on Arlington Street and lived in St. James all his life. He was a hard worker and started driving trucks when he was 16 years of age. He worked for McMillan Trucking Limited, Eaton's and Dasher (originally Canada Messenger). Brian married his childhood sweetheart Lauralee and together they raised their family and shared many good times. He was proud of his children and grandchildren. He treasured his Metis capote which was a family project and labour of love. He loved his sister Diane and her family. He appreciated all their help and support during his illness. Many thanks to Dr. C. Fletcher, Dr. Gary Schroeder, the staff from WRHA Palliative Care and Riverview Health Centre. Many thanks to family, friends and neighbours for their support. Special thanks to Majors Brian and Julie Slous. A service celebrating Brian's life will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Heritage Park Temple, 825 School Road.
