AMELIA (AMY) TERECK (nee BYRNE) With her family by her side, Amy passed away on March 26, 2010 at the Concordia Place Personal Care Home, at the age of 83 years. Amy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Peter; children Ken (Jackie), Ron (Eva), Jeanne, Jerry (Tammy), Rob (Denise); grandchildren Gail, Scott, Corinne, Kevin, Jeff, Kim, Amy, Robby, Melissa, Kris, Jackie, Chris, Larry, Peter and Ashley; brothers Pat and Sam; as well as by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Amy was predeceased by her daughter Catherine, brothers Peter, Jim and Jack. Mom was born in Fortune Harbour, Newfoundland where she met Peter, her husband to be. They eventually settled in Winnipeg, where Amy was well recognized for her efforts in the community of Luxton and the North End area, a terror at any hockey game she attended. She loved spending time with family at the cottage, camping trips, the outdoors in general, gardening and fishing. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Amy's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba. In the later years, Alzheimer's had claimed a part of the woman we have known and loved. Now death has claimed her body as well. We entrust her into God's tender and eternal care. We will miss her deeply. The family would like to extend our deep appreciation for the exceptional and loving care provided by the staff of Concordia Place. Irish Blessings May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields and, Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
