SYLVIA GEORGINA NAKIELNY (nee KURZMEYER) We sadly announce the death of our beloved Mother and Grandmother, Sylvia Georgina Nakielny, on March 26, 2010 at the Victoria General Hospital. She was born in Sursee (Kt. Lucerne), Switzerland. She leaves to mourn her daughter Broni Anderson-Nakielny, son-in-law Daniel Anderson, grandson David, granddaughter Shannon, great-granddaughter Dara, her daughter Jadwiga-Katharina Byrne-Nakielny, son-in-law Sean Byrne, grandsons Nicholas and Peter, her son John Nakielny. She is also survived by two brothers in Switzerland, Hans and Zepp Bossart. Our mother Sylvia moved with her husband Dr. Wladislav Nakielny and their two year old daughter Broni from Switzerland to Canada in 1951, where they settled first in Winnipeg. In 1952 their second daughter Jadwiga was born and in 1954 their son John. After a stay of four years in Rivers, MB the family moved back to Winnipeg, where they made their permanent home. Our mother, Sylvia, devoted her time entirely to her household, to the raising and educating her three children. She filled in her free time with voluntary works, especially teaching Catechism in the schools. Her beloved hobbies were gardening, planting and enjoying the outdoors during all Seasons. She was skilled in various kinds of needlework and loved reading especially the Holy Bible and Bible related books. As a devote Catholic, daily prayers were said in the home, and Holy Masses were attended not only on Sundays and Holy Days but as frequently as possible during weekdays. She was a lover of beauty, loved the arts, enjoyed classical music, poetry and the visual arts. May she rest in peace with the Lord's shining light upon her until we all meet again in the house of the Lord. While her body here is lying Let her Soul be swiftly flying To Thy Glorious Paradise. Amen. Funeral service will be held at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road, Winnipeg at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31 with a reception to follow. DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
