AGATHA DEFEHR (nee NEUFELD) 1911 - 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Agatha DeFehr on March 27, 2010 at Donwood Manor Personal Care Home at the age of 98 years. Agatha was predeceased by Cornelius, her husband of 63 years, in 2000; her son Arthur (Patricia) in 2005; sisters and brothers Tina Toews, Anne Koop, Mary, Erna DeFehr, Bill, Ben, George, John, Jake, Alfred and Herbert also predeceased her. Left to cherish her memory are her son, William (Marlene) DeFehr of Toronto, ON; daughter, Irene (Frederic) Wall of Winnipeg, MB; grandchildren Rochelle DeFehr (Greg Glista), Kristin DeFehr (Jeff Piro), Carla (Bryan) Grom, Leana (Dennis Conway), Andrew (Johanna) Wall, Ted (Amy Brown) DeFehr, Ardyth (Chris) Hamel, Collin DeFehr; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Victoria, Jada, Benjamin, Tyler, Konrad, Will, Kyle, Amanda, Kate, Heidi, Liam, Everett and Portia. Agatha was born in Kurushan, Russia (now Ukraine) and came to Canada with her family in 1924. She was devoted to her faith, family and friends. She had the gift of hospitality and loved nothing better than to entertain and care for family and friends. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of Donwood Manor Personal Care Home for their wonderful care. Viewing and visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street. The service of Remembrance and Celebration will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church, 145 Henderson Hwy., with interment to take place following the service at the Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9 or to Donwood Manor Personal Care Home, 171 Donwood Drive, Winnipeg, MB R2G 0V9.
