OLGA KEPRON (nee Moskal) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma on March 24, 2010 at Holy Family Home at the age of 92. Olga was predeceased by her husband Michael in July 2005, her brothers Michael and Mitch and sisters Nancy Holack and Teenie Ryzik. Left to cherish her memory are her children Wayne (Leslie), Jim (Dawne) and Cathy (François) Lentz; grandchildren Laurie, Scott (Meredith) and Craig, Chris (Emma), Charis (Ross Baker) and Zoe (Dan) Reimer, Vanessa and Viviane Lentz; great-grandchildren Jack and Alex Reimer and Kassandra Kepron; sister Vera Sydorchuk; sister-in-law Anne Moskal; as well as extended family and friends who were dear to her heart. Mom was born in the North End of Winnipeg to Alexander and Katherine Moskal. After graduating form St. John's High, she worked in the hotel industry for five years in food preparation at the McLaren and housekeeping at the Fort Garry. Mom and Dad met at a dance at Institute Prosvita, married in 1939 and continued their dance for another 66 years. Proud of her childhood reputation as a tomboy of sorts, she nurtured her athletic abilities from track, through softball, to curling in the Ladies' and the mixed Fortnighters' Leagues at the West Kildonan Curling Club and finally bowling. Keen gardeners, Mom and Dad joined the West Kildonan Horticultural Society where, for many years, they helped to organize and competed in the annual West Kildonan Horticultural Show. Mom always won prizes for her baking and knitting. Mom's kitchen was her castle. A family celebration meant lots of delicious food to eat and even more to take home. On Saturdays, freshly baked doughnuts and cinnamon buns were on the menu and family gatherings in summer meant mushroom or blueberry picking. Finally, a 30-year passion that allowed her to give of herself for the well being of the larger community was her service to Holy Family Home via the Ladies' Auxiliary. She was as much involved in activities with the residents as she was in the fundraising projects for their benefit. Friendships made there carried her through to her final days, thanks to visits from Terry Kasian, Olga Lewicki and Jean Michalishyn. Our heartfelt thanks to the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate and the exceptional staff and volunteers of Holy Family Home who cared for Mom with such love and devotion. Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010, officiated by Fr. Bohdan Lukie, CSsR. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom's memory to Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Avenue East, Winnipeg, R2W 1T9. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
