Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDESMOND (DES) FRANK KERLEY 1923 - 2010 Des passed away on March 30, 2010 after a battle with cancer. He was born in Regina on November 20, 1923 the youngest son of Ivy and Edward Kerley. He was predeceased by his first wife, Helen in 1965, his brothers Gil, Gor and his sister Kathleen. Des was predeceased by his second wife Gwen in 2008. He is survived by his stepdaughter Judy (Bill) and stepson Dennis (Carol) and by many nieces, one nephew and many friends. Des' career was in the insurance industry with London Life where he held positions in Winnipeg and Chatham, Ontario. Des was a devoted golfer and he obtained a certificate as a professional golf club maker. For many years, he and his wife Gwen were members of Elmhurst Golf and Country Club. Des was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church where he served on the vestry and also acted as Sunday School Superintendent. Des was interested in the arts. He enjoyed playing the piano and listening to organ music. He was also a water color artist. His scenic prints often appeared on his yearly Christmas cards. The family would like to acknowledge the care given to Des by the staff at Riverview Health Centre palliative care staff on E3. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Des' name to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation, 409 Tache Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R2H 2A6 or Holy Trinity Church Endowment Fund at 256 Smith Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1K1 A celebration of Des' life will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 256 Smith Street, Winnipeg.
