John will always be remembered by his loving and devoted wife, Catherine (Kay) and his two sons by a previous marriage, Allan (Lynda) and David (Cathy), who he was immensely proud of and loved dearly. John is also survived by his three grandchildren, Shawn, Sheryl and Ryan; numerous nieces and nephews; his brother Billy (Ann) Juskow; and sisters, Madeline (Joe) Lavallee, Betty (Len) Middleton, Frances (Sam) Mosiewich. John was predeceased by his parents; brothers and sisters, Peter, Charlie, Joe, Mary, Jenny, Stan, Frank, Edward, Mike, Bronk, Pete and Louise. John was born March 28, 1923 to Peter and Tekla Juskow. He was one of 17 children in a blended family who grew up working side by side with his parents on the family farm in St. Adolphe, MB. John joined the army in 1944 and was on the verge of being sent overseas when the war ended. As a young man he moved to Winnipeg and had a variety of jobs until he joined the CN where he worked until he retired in 1982. John and Kay had a wonderful life. Although they came together later in life, they made the most of every minute spending the summers at Brereton Lake and the winters travelling the world. The travel bug hit them hard and there was always one more place they wanted to go! The family wishes to thank the staff of 3 South at the Grace General Hospital for the kind care they provided John during his last days. Flowers are greatly appreciated, however for those wishing to make donations, please consider the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
