RALPH SHOTT 1935 - 2010 It is with great sadness and fond memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Ralph Shott on Friday, April 2, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ralph was a loving and generous husband, father and grandfather. He leaves to mourn his wife of 51 years Jeannette, son Darren (Janet), daughter Cheryl (Rod), cherished granddaughter Meaghan, brother Gerry (Suzanne), aunts Mary Esperson and Ollie Litkovich, sisters-in-law Grace, Elsie (Roy) and Diane, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ralph was predeceased by his parents in 1985. Ralph grew up on his family's farm in the municipality of Springfield just north of Transcona. He spent many hours helping his parents with their market garden and farm. As a young man he worked for Canada Packers for 31 years until they closed in 1988. Afterward he owned and managed an apartment block until he finally retired in 2001. Ralph was an avid car enthusiast! He owned and restored many antique and vintage automobiles. Weekends would often find the family touring the countryside in a model T or joining in a parade of vintage vehicles. Ralph loved to travel (especially with a fifth wheel) and over the years he and Jeannette covered most of Canada, the USA, and Mexico. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit and the nurses and care workers at Oakview Place. A funeral service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg MB, R3E 0V9. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
