MARIO DELLOSPEDALE ALONGI On Good Friday, April 2, 2010, Mario peacefully passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Filippa; son Gero, wife Carla, granddaughters, Carolina, Laura and Michela and his son Carmelo and grandsons, Giancarlo and Dante. Mario was born November 17, 1923 in Calascibetta, Sicily. He and his wife left Sicily in 1967 for Canada and the dream of a better life for their children. He worked very hard to achieve his goal supported always by his wife. The success of his sons is a proud testament to his commitment to his dream. A devoted family man who enjoyed the simple things in life: good food and wine; gatherings of family and friends; and practising his catholic faith. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the mass with Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Entombment will follow at the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CDN Cancer Society (osteo sarcoma) CDN Blood services.
