DALE HADFIELD 1942 2010 It is with great sadness and fond memories that we announce the passing of Dale Hadfield, who died peacefully at home on March 31, 2010. Beloved husband and best friend of Susan, father of Rebecca, Nicole and Curtis, and grandfather to Jacob, the light of his life. Dale was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 15, 1942. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Alma Jane Hadfield. Dale is also survived by his brothers Wayne (Lois) and Ron (Tony). Those who were fortunate to meet Dale were drawn in by his unique sense of humour, handsome looks, genuine warmth and positive attitude. Dale was blessed with many friendships, some spanning decades, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Dale was a man of strong faith, cared deeply about others and made significant contributions to his church. Among other things he was a rector's warden, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school. Dale cared deeply about people and took a genuine interest in them. This unique trait was a key factor in his successful career of sales and marketing. It was in leisure, though, that Dale found the greatest pleasure. Whether at the helm of a sailboat on Lake of the Woods, riding his motorcycle, or playing his guitar, Dale always lived his life to the fullest and relished life's little adventures. In more recent years, Dale's adventures were in his newly restored Argosy trailer and trips south for the winter. He also loved spending time with family and friends at his home on the lake in Matlock and feeding his feathered friends. Dale's unique sense of humour and quick wit contributed greatly to the joy of others, particularly in his performances as Sister Elvis in the Sisters of the Holy Rock. Dale's gained such joy from singing with the Sisters over the last 15 years and from all the friends he made. A celebration of Dale's life will be held on April 9 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 881 Autumnwood Drive. A private family interment will be held prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7 or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 0R3 are greatly appreciated. Dale you will be in our hearts forever. NEIL BARDAL INC. (204) 949 2200 nbardal.mb.ca
