Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCARL (CHARLIE) HERMANN FREDERICK It is with profound sorrow we announce the passing of our father Carl (Charlie) Hermann Frederick on Friday, April 2, 2010 in Pine Falls, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Pearl Georgina (Roy) in January 2009. Also, by his beloved son Cameron Roy Frederick and son-in-law Donald Eric Bodkin. He is survived by his children, Andrea Bodkin (Gerry), Shelly Tardiff (Joe), Colleen Peterson (Dane) and Diana Lynn Houston (Edgar). He will be greatly missed by his 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Charlie was born in Morris, Manitoba on January 29, 1923. He enlisted and fought during the Second World War and was of the rank of Captain when the war ended. He returned to Canada and married Pearl on September 6, 1947 and lived most of his life in Pine Falls. Charlie worked for Abitibi until he retired in 1988. Charlie and Pearl enjoyed travelling by car across Canada and did so many times while visiting their children. During these trips they managed to get in many, many rounds of golf! He was an avid crib player, enjoyed curling and was an expert at crossword puzzles. Charlie was honoured to receive his 50 year pin from the Royal Canadian Legion #64. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Sunnywood Manor for their loving care of their father. The funeral service will be held at the Pine Falls United Church on Wednesday, April 7 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, a donation in his name to the Sunnywood Manor would be appreciated
