MARGUERITE DE SCHUTTER (nee DESAUTELS) Passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2010, with family by her side. Born in St. Boniface, on November 15, 1924, she married Joseph, her life partner on August 14, 1945. From this loving union she had 14 children who will miss her dearly. Mom is survived by Joseph, her loving husband of 65 years, and their children; Julien (Glynis), Marguerite (Claude), Virginia (Jean), Janie (Roger), Louise (Jerry), Michael (Collette), Roland, Judy, Joey, Susan (Richard), Mark, Yvette (Donald), Leonard (Terry) and Tina Marie (Richard); 34 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her only sister Constance and brothers Louis, Jean, Henri, Marcel and Roland and the many nieces, nephews and friends. Over the years we have been amazed by Mom's collectibles. Of the many collections she had, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her most precious. Alongside though were her dolls, stamps, postcards, puzzles and 1924 pairs of salt and pepper shakers. In addition to raising 14 children Mom worked at Swifts, National Grain and Cargill Ltd. where she retired in 1989. During this time Mom worked alongside Dad to support and raise the family during his trucking career. She embodied love, compassion, patience, kindness and taught us the importance of family values and celebrations. No matter how much we tried to rattle her cage, she remained the rock and through this gave us the strength to carry on. She taught us life and we will miss her tremendously. We are sincerely thankful for the kind support we received from Germaine and the many other Palliative Care nurses of St. Boniface. Funeral Service will be held at Holy Cross Parish, 252 Dubuc Street on Thursday, April 8 at 2:00 p.m., with viewing to take place at 1:30 p.m. Burial to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens and reception to take place at Holy Cross Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
