ALICE MARTHA KEEN July 24, 1941 - April 10, 2010 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Alice, on Saturday, April 10, 2010. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Lorne of 50 years, sons Rick, Kevin (Kim), daughter Lynn (Phil), granddaughters Avery and Taylor, sisters Olga and Eleanor (Alex), brothers-in-law Wallace (Adeline), Ron (Sharon), and many relatives and dear friends. Alice was born in Morris, Manitoba on July 24, 1941, grew up in Dominion City, and settled in Winnipeg. She spent her early years working at the Bank of Montreal, went on to raise her family, and re-entered the work force at the Winnipeg Taxation Centre from where she eventually retired. Mom had many close friends whom she treasured. She will be fondly remembered for her good sense of humour, generous spirit and the countless things she did for others. Mom was a talented cook and exceptional baker and nothing gave her more pleasure than to share her creations with family and friends. Her granddaughters were her pride and joy and provided her endless enjoyment. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd 401 Kildare Ave. West. Interment to follow at the Transcona Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Caners, Concordia Hospital Oncology Dept., and the kindness of the Palliative Care staff at the St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Alice's name to Cancer Care Manitoba or the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Memorial Fund.
