Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryW. RICHARD BROWNLEE August 13, 1922 - April 9, 2010 On April 9, 2010, in his 88th year, Dick peacefully passed away at the Park Manor Personal Care Home in Winnipeg. Beloved husband and best friend of Murdina for 62 years; devoted father of Ian and Philip, and his wife Sherry; grandfather of Thomas; older brother of Betty Marie Jamieson and Marion Anderson. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren. Being a somewhat reserved person; he was not keen about going out to large social gatherings but was right in his element with a gathering of the family in his own home. He was very happy with and very interested in each and every one of the younger generation. He began his career as a Civil Engineer with the CNR in 1947. With the exception of a few years in the Water Supply Department in the era of steam engines and test and development work with the Track Department in the early years of use of continuous rail, he worked in Bridges and Structures both in Winnipeg and Montreal. The family would like to thank the 2nd floor nursing staff at the Park Manor Personal Care Home for taking such good care of Dick during his last months. Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of his life at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
