VALERIE MASON (nee THORSTEINSON) March 2, 1949 - April 11, 2010 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece and cherished friend. Val is predeceased by her grandmother Frieda, mother Marge, and her life partner Mike Johnson. Missing Val deeply are her daughters Valencia (John), Paula (Sheldon), grandsons Conrad and Eric, her brothers Brian (Donna) and Jack, niece Jennifer (Aaron), Uncle Frank and special friends Marlene, Tim and the Mason family. Val's passions in life included baking, canning jam, gardening, books, and animals. Val had a special gift for caring for cats. She loved many over the years and they loved her. Val made friends easily due to her caring and kind personality. She would light up a room with her smile. Soft spoken and sincere, she made everyone around her feel special and at ease. Our heartfelt loss cannot be expressed in words. We miss Val deeply and her beautiful spirit will live on in our memories. Funeral Service to celebrate Val's life will be held on Friday, April 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery.
