MARY MALENCHUK Peacefully, Wednesday, April 14, 2010, Mary Malenchuk, at age 99, passed away at the Oakview Place. Mary was predeceased by her husband Steve (1999), her son John (1984) and sons-in-law Ted (1988) and Larry (1993). She will be remembered by her daughters Olga and Mary (Brian); her grandchildren Gary (Leanne), Sharon (Darell), Terry (Tracy), Susan (Rob); and also her great-grandchildren Stephanie, Jeffery, Sian, Chelsea, Lyndon, Matthew, and Leah. Mary was born on July 5, 1910 in Bukovina, Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1929. After Steve found her again in Canada and following a short courtship Steve and Mary were married on November 21, 1931 in Winnipeg. Mary took pride in taking care of her family. She hosted family get-togethers in Ukrainian tradition for Christmas Eve and Easter dinners. She loved taking care of her garden and flowers and made the best apple pies ever. She passed along the Ukrainian traditions to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of the loved ones she left behind. We wish to extend our appreciation for the wonderful care, although short, that she received at Oakview Place. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
