Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM JOHN (BILL) EYRES Bill was born December 26, 1923 in Winnipeg. He served during the Second World War in Italy, France and Holland. He worked a short while for the CNR Railway out of Neepawa where he met and married his wife Jean. He then started working for Corrections Canada at Stony Mountain Institution where he was employed for 28 years. He moved to Stony Mountain in 1961 and lived there until 2002. Due to being stricken with Alzheimer's disease, he spent his remaining years residing at Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall, until his passing on November 29, 2009. Bill is survived by his son Douglas (Sherry) of The Pas Manitoba, his two grandsons, Trevor of Winnipeg and Tyler of Red Deer Alberta, and his sister Ruth (Metro) Pedruchny. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean (August 29, 2003) and sisters, Annie, Ellen, Margaret, Dora and brothers Tom and Chris. Cremation has taken place and interment will take place at Christ Church (Anglican) Cemetery in Stony Mountain, with a graveside service on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements
