SIMONE CECILIA GOSSELIN (nee LAMBERT) Peacefully, at her residence in St. Malo on Thursday, April 15, 2010, Simone Gosselin, with her family by her side and the newly arrived robins chirping in the background, met with her Saviour. Simone was the beloved mother of Elaine (Ed), Jerry (Suzanne), Mimi, and Michele (Dale), and loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She leaves to mourn also, her sister Eveline Prefontaine, and sisters-in-law Laurette Lambert and Lucille Gosselin. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Victor, her eldest daughter Leonne, and infant daughter Yvette, parents Henri and Antoinette Lambert, brothers Jean, Leo and Jules and sisters Yvonne and Gertrude. Also predeceased by in-laws, Raoul (Anna), Ovide (Fabiola), Jean (Melanie), Gabriel (Emma), Gustave (Marie), Joseph (Madeleine), Ovila (Cecile), Adrien (Therese), Antoine (Irma), Oscar, Jeanne D'Arc (Josephat), Marie-Louise (Antoine), Marguerite (Fernand). Mom was born on February 24, 1921, in St. Pierre, and raised there where life was so simple but the work hard. Always surrounded by family and fine friends, she chose to return to the area after Victor's passing. She had such a great sense of humour, and always loved to laugh, even at herself. Cards, bingo, gardening, and the St. Malo Cabin were her greatest loves. She will be sorely missed by everyone whose life she touched. A wonderful mother to the end. We would like to thank the staff at the Chalet Malouin for going so far above and beyond to see that Mom was so well cared for as well as the wonderful palliative care team. Donations may be made to Hospice Palliative Care Manitoba, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3J 0L3. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2010, celebrated by L'Abbe Chaput at St. Malo Roman Catholic Church, St. Malo, Manitoba, preceded by prayers and viewing at 10:30. Interment to follow at Green Acres Cemetery. One who laughs at one's self has great inner strength and self esteem.
