TRUDIE TOEWS On April 17, 2010 Jesus came to take Trudie home. Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Trudie was born on January 9, 1927 to Jacob and Helena Goertzen. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her Saviour and continued to follow Him her entire life. On December 4, 1959, Trudie married Bill Toews and they had four daughters. Not only were they lifelong partners in marriage, but shared a partnership in business. They owned and operated Countryside Farms until their retirement in 1991. Trudie's life centered around Jesus Christ. This was evident in all the church groups and activities she was involved in. Most importantly, was her personal time with her Saviour each day. Our Mom was tireless in all she did in her life. She ran both home and business with a balance that only she could do. Homemade meals, fresh baking and canning were regular fares. Her welcoming attitude made our home the neighbourhood hangout. Mom's greatest pleasure was serving in whatever capacity she could for family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bill and their four daughters, Colleen (Gord) Kroeker; Shannon (Gord) Bartel; Janine (Peter) Wieler and Bobbi Jane (Doug) Thiessen; as well as eight grandchildren, James (fiancée Megan), Graeme, Madeline Wieler; Derek, Mallory Bartel; Morgan, Jasmyn, Brinna Thiessen. She is also survived by four sisters and four brothers. The family extends their heartfelt thanks for the care and compassion the emergency personnel showed to them. Viewing is Thursday, April 22, 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach. The Funeral is on Friday, April 23, 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church, 360 McKenzie, Steinbach with interment prior to service.
