ANASTASIA BROSNYAK Anastasia Brosnyak passed away on April 17, 2010, at the age of 87 years. Anastasia was born on December 24, 1922 in the village of Drohomyshyl, povit Yavoriv, Lvivska oblast, Western Ukraine. She immigrated to Canada in 1951, residing in Winnipeg. Anastasia leaves to mourn her passing her son George (Sally) Brosnyak; daughter Irene Osinchuk; son Gerry; daughter Pat (Frank) Cotroneo; grandchildren Frank and Anthony Cotroneo; sister Hania Diduch; nephews Roman, William, Ron Diduch and their families; and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her husband John, infant children Roman and Paul, parents Andrij and Kateryna Paniusz, brother Klymko, brother-in-law Wasyl Diduch and son-in-law Greg Osinchuk. Anastasia's life was one of devotion and dedication to God and her family. Her strong Christian faith sustained her throughout life's many hardships. She nurtured and instilled a love for Ukrainian culture, traditions and language in her children and grandchildren. Anastasia was a beautiful, kind and gentle woman. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She took pride in her home and garden; always sharing her bounty with family, friends and neighbours. Anastasia had a special bond with her sister Hania, whom she loved dearly. She cherished the time that they spent together; especially during their later years. Special thanks to Dr. T. Babick for his many years of care and friendship. Also to the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit and the W.R.H.A. Palliative Care program. Divine Liturgy will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat M. Buyachok. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Anastasia's memory to: Children of Chernobyl Fund, 2118-A Bloor Street West, Suite 200, Toronto, Ontario, Canada M6S 1M8, Sts.
