HELEN FUNK (nee WIEBE) Peacefully, in her favourite sleeping position, early in the morning on Sunday, April 18, 2010 our Mom went to be with Jesus. She is lovingly remembered by five daughters and two sons: Elma, Eileen (Abe), Peter (Darlene), Susie, Helen, Marilyn, Brian (Anita); nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one brother. Helen was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1991 and her son-in-law Dennis in 1992. She was also predeceased by six brothers and two sisters. The family would like to express appreciation and gratitude to the Home Care staff for their many years of care and love. A special thank you to Dr. Minaar for stepping in to take care of our Mom in the hospital; and also thank you to all the medical and housekeeping staff for their assistance. A very special thank you to Pastor Richard Martens and Chaplain Larry Hirst for your many visits and prayers. Also thank you for the many prayers from all of you. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach with viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow at Heritage Cemetery.
