KATHERINE TURNER (nee BEES) 1948 - 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of Katherine Bees Turner announces her sudden passing on April 18, 2010 at the age of 61 years. Katherine was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She graduated from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate and Tech Voc Vocational School where she did post-secondary studies. With her empathetic, nurturing and selfless nature, she was an eternal mother and dear friend to the many who knew her. She was tremendously creative and approached all aspects of her life with enthusiastic determination, excelling at any task she took on. Her understanding and knowledge of many-a-subject was vast and seemingly limitless. She loved to laugh and the sight and sound of her laughter was contagious. She was also very giving of her time and energy, not only to the schools of her children and First Lutheran Church, but also to humanitarian organizations including CancerCare Manitoba and Winnipeg Harvest. Katherine was predeceased by her father Henry. She is survived by her mother Irene; her daughter Kristy (Mike); her sons Kelly, Clayton (Antoinetta), Matt; her sister Karen (Dave); her brothers Bill (Rosie), Ken (Kathy); nieces and nephews Leslie (Ron), Nicole (Gary), David, Tara, Laura, Ellen, Karen; great-nephew Ben; great-niece Sophia, plus extended family and many friends including Judy Crawford and her best furry-friend Thomas the cat. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor St. (between Sargent and Ellice), with interment following at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Reception to follow interment at 140 Ferry Road. In lieu of flowers for those who wish, donations may be made in Katherine's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or The Winnipeg Humane Society. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
