KATHRYN MAYA WHITLEDGE Peacefully, on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Charleswood Care Centre, Kathryn went to join her husband Ernie. She will be lovingly remembered by daughters Joan and Laurie, grandchildren Rob Whitledge (Laressa Ruissell), Katie Helgason, Devin and Tyler Rey, as well as her many cousins. Kathryn was predeceased by her husband Ernie, her mother Katherine (Pearson) and father Arthur Lawrence Wrye. Kathryn was born April 11, 1925 in Dauphin, MB. She spent many years in Dauphin and Flin Flon. She moved to Winnipeg during the 1940s and went to work for Atkins and Macauley until she met Dad. She belonged to Harrow United Church and loved to sing in the choir. She was also an avid curler, belonging to the Manitoba Ladies Curling Association, and curled for many years at the Grain Exchange and The Wildewood Curling Clubs. A big thank you to all the wonderful staff at Charleswood Care Centre for all their love and care they gave Mom during her three years there. A memorial service will be held at Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey Ave., Winnipeg, MB on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathryn's memory to the Alzheimer's Society, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
