ROSS HALPIN Born in Winnipeg September 2, 1931 and raised in Pine Falls, MB, Leonard Ross known as Preacher' by his closest friends, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 19, 2010 after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 78 years. Anyone who knew him loved him for his kind demeanor and love for entertaining. He loved singing, playing his piano and fiddling. Army Navy and Legion members throughout Southern Manitoba will miss his witty songs and unique entertaining style. He was an avid duck hunter and dedicated old Kakker' and has had close ties to the Pine Falls, Libau, Scanterbury and Selkirk region all his life. He leaves to mourn June; daughters Jacqueline (Harry), Michelle (John); son Gordon (Jody); grandchildren Michelle, Christopher, Andrea, Daniel, Brett, Jaycee and Carley; brother Bruce (Joan); nieces and nephews Scott, Jolene, Kristen, Billy and Leah. Close friend Lucille Morrison will also mourn his passing. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held for family and friends at St. James Cemetery, Poplar Park (north of Libau) at a later date. Special thank you to the nursing staff at Selkirk General Hospital and Dr. Zoppa for their expert care and professionalism.
