GEORGE ALFRED RICHTER It is with deep sadness that on April 20, 2010 George Richter, born in Winnipeg Manitoba, passed away at Concordia Hospital at age 87 years. Remaining to cherish George's memory are beloved wife of 61 years Marjorie, son Mark and daughter-in-law Joany, nephew Wendell (Jean) Richter, niece Ronalee (Gary) LaBoutillier of Victoria, BC. He also leaves to mourn Helen Mclean, Linda and Jim Faloon and family as well as many other nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased most recently by his brother-in-law Cal Mclean in January 2010. George graduated grade 12 from Central school Transcona and was called to duty in the armed forces and is a veteran of the Second World War. He worked in many departments at the CNR as a Carmen ending his career specializing in Air Brake equipment. He retired from the CNR at age 55 due to health reasons. A celebration of George's life will be held on Tuesday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Concordia Hospital second floor for their kindness and compassionate care.
