STEPHANIE BELAGUS Peacefully, on Thursday, April 22, 2010, Stephanie Belagus, of Lion's Manor, passed away at the Grace Hospital. Stephanie was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Matrona, sisters Anne Dobush (Lauder) and Mary and brothers, Joseph and Emil (Vera). Left to mourn are nephew Jeffrey, niece Lori Loewen (Jim), great-nephew Landon and great-niece Carmen. Steffie was born and raised in Winnipeg on August 13, 1916. She attended King Edward, Isaac Newton and St. John's schools. She played baseball on the original CUAC softball team, with former alderman Slaw Rebchuk as her coach. Steffie was also an avid golfer, who loved to play the game. Steffie worked for many years at The Bay downtown, before retiring to travel and spend time with family and friends. Remarkably, Steffie lived quite independently until recently, and always possessed a strong wit - something we all admired about her. Cremation has taken place, as per Stephanie's wishes, and a private interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
