Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA MARIA DU CROIX (nee Kampschreur) In loving memory of our mother, Oma, and Great Oma, Anna Maria du Croix who passed away April 23, 2010. Mom was born in Nymegen, Netherlands on October 8, 1917 to Michiel Kampschreur and Berdina Engelaar. Mom came to Canada with her husband Ted and her children in 1953 to have a better life for my children as she always said. She was predeceased by her husband Theodore, her son Major C.M. du Croix (Cory), her son Marcel, her son-in-law Ken, daughters-in-law Charlotte and Glenna and her great-granddaughter Samantha Thomas. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Berdina Shorten (friend Laurent Gagnon), her son Michael (Margaret), her grandchildren: Ted (Monique), Pamela, Michelle (Norm), Melanie (Andrew), Michael, Sharon (Phil) and Paul; her 12 great-grandchildren as well as her best friend Hubert. Anna survived the Second World War and was a great help to the Canadian and American Liberation Forces. Over the years she told her family frequent sad and humorous memories of those times. While in Canada, She was employed in the CSR at the Health Sciences Centre. Anna loved working and was extremely efficient in her job. Her family and friends were very important to her. Great Oma's last special moment was on April 23 when her great-granddaughter Keira sang many songs to her. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the 4th floor at the Victoria Hospital for their excellent care. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street. Interment of the cremated remains will follow at the St. Boniface Cemetery.
