ANN PATRICIA COWAN (nee FLETT) 1915 - 2010 Ann passed away to her heavenly home at the age of 94, while in the presence of loved ones. She was born on November 13, 1915, in Portgordon, Scotland, where she attended school, and in her teens, came to Winnipeg with her mother and five siblings (John, Simon, Mae, Lilly and Alexander). Her father had arrived in Winnipeg one year earlier, living at his sister and brother-in-law's residence. Later, two other brothers, Beverley and Warner, were added to the family. Ann attended Three Hills Bible Institute, now known as The Winnipeg Bible College and Seminary. It was there where she met her husband-to-be, Reverend Hugh Cowan. After completing his service in the armed forces, they were married in the Alliance Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba, September 16, 1944. A son, John, was born in Winnipeg in 1946. They ministered in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and also Minnesota. Ann learned to knit while a preschooler in Scotland and knit all of her grandchildren's sweaters, hats, scarves and mittens through the years. She also enjoyed accompanying her husband in visiting the sick and shut-ins. She knew the importance of laying up treasure in heaven in abundant measure for the Great Accounting Day. Thank you Warner and Dolores for all your help while living here in Winnipeg. Eternity is forever, and I trust we'll all be there together one day as we accept the Saviour and walk with Him daily. Ann is survived by her son, John (Carolyn) and six grandchildren, Tonja, Gina, Brianna, Shauna, David and Jonathan; sister-in-law, Dolores and many nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her husband and all of her siblings. Missed along life's way, remembered day by day, no longer in our lives to share, but in our hearts forever there. It was Ann's wish that she be interred next to her husband in Hazelwood Cemetery in Abbotsford, BC. A graveside service will be held there. Arrangements by Korban Funeral Chapel, Winnipeg, MB and First Memorial Funeral Services, Aldergrove, BC.
