HELEN OSTROVE (nee WESELOWSKI) Peacefully on April 25, 2010 Helen passed away at the Grace Hospital. Helen fought courageously to regain her health after a major surgery on April 1. Helen was predeceased by her husband Abner (1986) and sister Adele (1992). She will be lovingly remembered by her brother Eddie Wess of Saskatoon, son Brad (Diana), daughters Cheryl Bibeau and Shelly Seys (Ken), grandchildren Dale Carrothers, Devon (Ken) Buhler, Joel (Olga) Seys, Ryan and Matthew Ostrove, and great-grandson Jayden Buhler. Born in Sifton, Saskatchewan, Helen moved to Winnipeg as a teenager. After meeting and marrying Abner they became owners of Kozy Koats and many restaurants including Ostrove's on Broadway. Helen's main joy and focus was her family and she was her children's strongest supporter. She loved her family, her home, as well as weekly trips to the casino and all things beautiful. The family wishes to thank Diana Ostrove for her years of unselfish care she provided as Helen's primary caregiver. The family would also like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks and Grace Hospital for their compassionate care. At Helen's request there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation at 2300 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2V 3M3.
