MARGARET (PEGGY) BURGOYNE (LENNON)
Date of Passing: Apr 24, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (PEGGY) BURGOYNE (nee LENNON) Peacefully, with family at her side on April 24, 2010. Peggy was predeceased by her husband John, daughter Diane Hendin, and parents Ellen (Cail) and Sammy Lennon. She leaves to mourn her passing her sister Evelyn Gaudet; son John (Donna), daughter Margaret Frobisher (Bob), daughter Mary Wilson (Wendy), son Bob (Delanne); 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom grew up in Winnipeg and met Dad at Grand Beach when he returned from serving in the Navy during the Second World War. They worked and played together for many years before Dad's untimely passing. Their little house on Avalon Road grew with the family and was a refuge for many adopted children, some came for a short time and stayed for years, others made a quick stop for a few days, weeks or months, but no one in need of a place to stay was ever turned away. The house was also a safe haven for pets, from dogs and cats to gerbils, rabbits, birds and even alligators. Mom rarely said no to her children's requests for additional furry and not so furry friends. Mom, in addition to raising five children, always worked outside the home at a variety of occupations. During her final years mom succumbed to dementia and resided at the personal care home, River Park Gardens, where she quickly made new friends, especially Loli. She was happy there and we, her family, are grateful for the wonderful care and all the love she received from her second family at River Park Gardens. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. If so desired, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke or the Alzheimer's Society. DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
