Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTENE COX (nee SHIELS) It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on April 23, 2010 at the Lions Personal Care Home. She was born May 7, 1914 in Kisbey, SK moving to Winnipeg with the family in 1926. Christene was predeceased by her husband, Reginald, daughter Maureen Hanna, son Bill, and sister Kathleen Zryd. She is survived by her loving children: Geraldine (Gary) Tipping, Janet (Larry) Clark, Graham (Maxine) and Greg (a missionary in the Philippines); 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Shirley (Mel) Bailey and Dorothy Morrison. Christene really enjoyed being a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood. She also belonged to the Pembina Curling Club, Crescent Golf Course and several bridge clubs. We all have happy memories of the many wonderful summers spent with mom at the family cottage at Ponemah Beach (Lake Winnipeg). A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 30 at Trinity United Church, 933 Summerside Ave. The family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd floor of the Lions Personal Care Centre for the loving care they gave our mother.
