KATHERINE IRENE SHAW (nee HYGAARD) April 7, 1965 - April 24, 2010 Unexpectedly at the age of 45 we lost Kathy, our beloved wife, mom and grandma. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by husband Roy; daughter Jenn and grandson Conner; sisters Lynda Hygaard, Shirley Stroobants, Laurie Scott, Audrey (Bob) Carpenter; brothers Frank, Scott (Edna) Hygaard, Stuart (Chris) Hygaard; Roy's parents Ernie and Grace Shaw, his sister Myrtle (Les) Craig, his brother-in-law Terry (Betty) Slator; Chris, Cora and Madison Recknell and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Kathy was predeceased by her son Chris; parents Jack and Mae Hygaard; sisters-in-law Debby Hygaard and Brenda Slator and niece Angela Carpenter. Kathy was born and raised in West Kildonan and was the youngest of eight children. She married Roy June 2, 1984, they raised their two children in Winnipeg later moving to Woodlands, MB. Kathy excelled at her job as a safety manager in the transportation industry at Trans X and Trappers Transport. Her grandson Conner meant the world to her and he was the light of her life. She touched the lives of everyone she met. A memorial service celebrating Kathy's life will be held on Monday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main St., Stonewall. Private family interment to follow at a later date. Everyday that passes I miss you that much more. You will be in my heart forever and always. Love you, have a good sleep mama.
