MARIAN (JEAN) THORVALDSON (nee ADOLPHE) June 26, 1932 - April 26, 2010 With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Jean Thorvaldson, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt on Monday, April 26, 2010 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Winnipeg, MB. Mom's memory will live on in the hearts of her children, Janice (Lloyd) Tokle, John (Gail) Thorvaldson, Gerald (Joyce) Thorvaldson, Erik Thorvaldson; grandchildren, Mark (Lori) Tokle, Jennifer Tokle, Samantha and James Thorvaldson, Mitchell Young, Christine (Bryan) Preteau and Adam (Mandy) Thorvaldson. Jean became a proud great-grandmother in the past two years to Austen Thorvaldson and River Preteau. Jean is survived by her youngest sister, special to her heart, Dell (Gary) Keatley. She was predeceased by both her parents, John and Martha Adolphe; and sisters, Dorothy Craik and Ruth Drover. Our family would like to thank mom's Doctors, Nurses and Health Care Aides, whom are too many to mention for their personal care and compassion. An informal reception to celebrate Mom's life will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg, MB (across from Brookside Cemetery). In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
