JULIETTE MARCELLE SIMARD It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Juliette on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 87 years. Juliette was born in Lorette, MB on June 19, 1922 to Zotique and Georgette Rodrigue. She was the fourth of nine children. In 1938 she married Wilfred Tessier and together they had nine children. Juliette met the love of her life, Lionel Simard and in 1978 they were married in Ste. Anne. They spent the first years of their life together in Winnipeg and later moved out to an acreage in Ste. Anne. Mom had a master green thumb, this was evident in her many beautiful plants both in her warm loving home and in her well kept garden. She also loved to cook and preserve all the fruits of her labour which was always a special treat to those who visited. Mom and Dad eventually moved back into the city and finally to their apartment on Masson Street, where Mom continued with her passion of gardening and cooking. She also enjoyed ten years of volunteer work for the St. Boniface Hospital. Juliette is survived by her husband Lionel Simard; her children: Germaine, Roland (Arnella), Rene (Julie), Yvonne (Armand), Diane (Ken), Helene, Rachele, Gisele (Dale), Noella (Wayne); step-daughters: Claudette, Yvonne. She also had numerous grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren. Her sisters: Jeanne Pilon and Emma Perrault (Johnny) as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was predeceased by her first husband Wilfred Tessier; grandson Jeffery Kluz; son-in-law Theodore Cook; brothers: George, Joe, Paul, Romeo; sisters: Marianne and Therese. Special thank you to Rita Champagne who was always there to help with anything Mom needed as well as to Dr. Balko, her physician and to all the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their wonderful care. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 1 at 10:30 a.m. with viewing one half hour prior to the service in the St. Boniface Basilica. Private inurnment will be held at a later date in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
