ELSIE BABIAK (nee Dopson) It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Born in 1920 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Riverview Health Centre. Elsie will be sadly missed by her children: Hartley (Carol), John (Carole), Karen (Ted), Chuck (Candy), Barbara (Craig), Barry (Alix) and Donna (Paul); grandchildren: Gregory (Chrissy), Mark (Silwana), Kevin (Tracy), Mike, Cory, Lisa (Tim), Allan (Jennifer), Kade and great grandchildren: Haley and Emma as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her parents as well as all of her six siblings. Mom and Dad were married in January 1941 and had seven children. Following Dad's untimely death in 1961, Mom's determination and strength allowed her to raise her children on her own. Elsie retired from the Winnipeg School Division in 1985. She enjoyed her years of retirement with her family and friends. We would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre, especially 1D Wing for their care and support to Mom and the family. In lieu of flowers, donations to Harrow United Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey, on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., with a reception to follow in the church hall.
