GLENN ALAN RUSSELL June 14, 1934 - April 22, 2010 It is with deep love and respect that we said good-bye to Glenn on Thursday, April 22, 2010. His wife Mae, of 50 years of marriage, was at his side as our Lord took him from us too suddenly. Glenn leaves us with his daughters Terri (Ray), Lynda (Andy); beloved grandchildren Christine and Alexander; sister Kate (Murray); sister-in-law Irene (Ron); brother-in-law James (his late wife Susan); many nieces and nephews, in his heart, as he will always be in ours. He loved and adored his two grandchildren, Christine and Alexander, who always looked forward to spending time with Grandpa and Grandma in their house in the country and the adventures he always planned for them. They truly loved him and will miss him. Being an avid traveler and gardener Glenn loved to decorate the outside of their home for the different seasons. Their home was known as the house of lights for the hundreds of Christmas and twinkle lights displayed every holiday season. Glenn enjoyed his time on C.J.O.B radio with Peter Warren during tax time. He would take complicated issues during the federal provincial budgets and make these issues easily understood by the public. As well as a well respected Charted Accountant, he opened the Winnipeg tax division for K.P.M.G. moving his family from Toronto to Winnipeg in 1972. Glenn was a founding member of one of Toronto's chapter of Kiwanis. He also sat on the board of Folklorama for many years. After retirement he was appointed by the Finance Minister as the Manitoba Commissioner of Tax Appeals. Glenn was well respected by his family, many friends, partners, and co-workers. In compliance with Glenn's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will take place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Victoria Hospital and Doctor Salem for his care and concern. In memory of Glenn, a donation may be made to your favourite charity.
